Quality Guarantee
Our Commitment to Excellence, With Clear Responsibilities
⚠️ Important Notice
This Quality Guarantee is subject to the customer providing print-ready files that meet our technical specifications. Chroma 3D Printing is not responsible for print defects, quality issues, or results that stem from poor file quality, design flaws, or improper file preparation by the customer. Please read this document carefully to understand both our commitments and your responsibilities.
1. Our Commitment to You
At Chroma 3D Printing, we take pride in our expertise, equipment, and processes. We are committed to delivering the highest quality 3D prints possible within the parameters of FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) technology and your provided design files.
Our team brings years of experience in 3D printing, and we continuously invest in:
- Professional-grade FDM printing equipment
- Regular calibration and maintenance protocols
- Quality control inspections on every order
- Premium filament materials from trusted suppliers
- Ongoing training and process improvement
2. What We Guarantee
When you provide a properly prepared, print-ready file, we guarantee:
2.1 Print Execution
- Your print will be produced using properly calibrated equipment
- Print settings will be optimized for your selected material
- Layer adhesion will meet industry standards for FDM printing
- Prints will be free from our manufacturing defects (not file-related issues)
2.2 Material Quality
- We use only quality-tested filaments from reputable manufacturers
- Material color will match our published color swatches
- Filament will be properly stored to prevent moisture absorption
2.3 Dimensional Accuracy
- Prints will match your file dimensions within our published tolerances (see Section 6)
- Tolerances are measured from your submitted file, not from your intended design
2.4 Turnaround Time
- Orders will be completed within your selected turnaround timeframe
- You will be notified promptly if any delays occur
- Shipping delays by carriers are not covered under turnaround guarantees
3. Customer Responsibilities
CRITICAL: The customer is solely responsible for providing print-ready files. We print exactly what you send us. If your file has issues, those issues will appear in the final print.
As a customer, you are responsible for:
3.1 File Quality
- Ensuring your 3D model is properly designed and manifold (watertight)
- Verifying your model has no inverted normals, non-manifold edges, or holes
- Confirming wall thicknesses meet minimum requirements for printing
- Testing your file in slicing software before submission
3.2 Design Considerations
- Understanding the limitations of FDM printing technology
- Designing appropriate support structures or allowing for support placement
- Accounting for overhangs, bridges, and other challenging geometries
- Ensuring your design is suitable for your intended application
3.3 Communication
- Providing clear instructions for any special requirements
- Responding promptly to any questions we may have about your order
- Specifying correct print orientation if required
4. File Quality Requirements
To qualify for our Quality Guarantee, your files must meet these requirements:
File Formats
STL, OBJ, or 3MF format. STL preferred for best compatibility.
Manifold Geometry
Models must be watertight with no holes, gaps, or non-manifold edges.
Wall Thickness
Minimum 1.2mm wall thickness (2-3 perimeters at 0.4mm nozzle).
Correct Normals
All face normals must point outward. No inverted or flipped normals.
Proper Scale
Model must be scaled to intended print size in millimeters.
Single Shell
No internal geometry, overlapping faces, or intersecting meshes.
Free File Check Available
Not sure if your file meets our requirements? We offer a free basic file check with every quote request. However, please note that our file check is a courtesy service and does not guarantee printability. Complex geometric issues may not be detectable through automated checks.
5. Guarantee Exclusions
OUR QUALITY GUARANTEE DOES NOT COVER AND WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR:
5.1 File-Related Issues
- Prints that accurately reproduce defects present in the customer's file
- Quality issues resulting from non-manifold geometry or mesh errors
- Problems caused by inverted normals or improper face orientation
- Weak prints due to insufficient wall thickness in the design
- Failed prints due to unsupported overhangs in the model design
- Dimensional inaccuracies present in the original file
- Any print defect that is a direct reproduction of the submitted file
5.2 Design Limitations
- Designs that exceed the physical capabilities of FDM printing
- Ultra-fine details below 0.4mm that cannot be reproduced with standard nozzles
- Text or engravings smaller than 5mm in height
- Features requiring support removal in inaccessible areas
- Designs requiring tolerances tighter than FDM technology can achieve
5.3 Aesthetic Expectations
- Visible layer lines (inherent to FDM technology)
- Minor stringing or surface imperfections typical of FDM prints
- Support structure marks or surface texture from support removal
- Color variations within published tolerance ranges
- Subjective quality preferences when print meets technical specifications
5.4 Customer Actions
- Damage occurring during customer post-processing
- Issues arising from improper storage or handling after delivery
- Modifications made to the print after receipt
- Use of prints outside their intended application or material specifications
5.5 External Factors
- Shipping damage (covered by shipping insurance claims)
- Delays caused by shipping carriers
- Issues arising from incorrect shipping address provided by customer
6. Manufacturing Tolerances
All measurements and dimensions are subject to the following tolerances, which are standard for FDM printing technology:
| Specification | Tolerance | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Dimensional Accuracy (XY) | ± 0.5mm or ± 2% | Whichever is greater |
| Dimensional Accuracy (Z) | ± 0.3mm or ± 1% | Whichever is greater |
| Layer Height | ± 0.02mm | From selected layer height |
| Minimum Wall Thickness | 1.2mm | Thinner walls may fail |
| Minimum Detail Size | 0.4mm | Based on standard nozzle |
| Hole Diameter Accuracy | ± 0.4mm | Holes may print smaller |
Important: These tolerances are measured from your submitted file. If your file is not accurately scaled or dimensioned, the tolerance applies to the file dimensions, not your intended dimensions.
7. Quality Claims Process
If you believe your print has a defect covered by our Quality Guarantee:
Contact Us Within 7 Days
Email us at quality@chroma3dprinting.com within 7 calendar days of receiving your order. Include your order number and a description of the issue.
Provide Documentation
Submit clear photographs showing the defect from multiple angles. Include measurements if the issue is dimensional. We may request the original file for comparison.
Review Process
Our quality team will review your claim within 2 business days. We will compare the print against your submitted file to determine if the issue is a manufacturing defect or file-related.
Resolution
If your claim is approved, we will offer an appropriate remedy (see Section 8). If denied, we will provide a detailed explanation of why the issue falls outside our guarantee coverage.
Note: Claims submitted after 7 days from delivery may be denied. Please inspect your prints promptly upon receipt.
8. Available Remedies
For valid quality claims covered by our guarantee, we offer the following remedies at our sole discretion:
8.1 Reprint
We will reprint your order at no additional cost. This is our preferred remedy for manufacturing defects. The customer may be required to return the defective print before a reprint is shipped.
8.2 Partial Refund
For minor defects that don't significantly impact functionality, we may offer a partial refund of the print cost (not including shipping).
8.3 Full Refund
In cases where a reprint cannot resolve the issue and the defect is clearly our manufacturing error, we may offer a full refund of the print cost. Shipping costs are refunded only if the shipping method failed (e.g., rush order not delivered on time).
8.4 Store Credit
With customer agreement, we may offer store credit exceeding the original order value as an alternative to refund.
Remedy Limitations
- Remedies are limited to the original order value
- We are not liable for any consequential damages, lost profits, or project delays
- Remedies do not apply to issues outside our guarantee coverage
- Customer must return defective items if requested before remedy is provided
9. Important Limitations
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHROMA 3D PRINTING'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO OUR SERVICES, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY THE CUSTOMER FOR THE SPECIFIC ORDER IN QUESTION.
IN NO EVENT SHALL CHROMA 3D PRINTING BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA, PROJECT DELAYS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION.
9.1 No Warranty of Fitness
We do not warrant that prints will be suitable for any particular purpose. The customer is responsible for determining whether 3D printed parts are appropriate for their intended application, including but not limited to structural, mechanical, or safety-critical applications.
9.2 No Guarantee of Identical Results
Due to the nature of 3D printing, reprints may have minor variations from previous prints. We guarantee prints will meet specifications, but not that they will be identical to previous orders.
9.3 Third-Party Files
For files obtained from third parties (Thingiverse, MyMiniFactory, etc.), we are not responsible for quality issues inherent to those designs. Our guarantee applies only to our manufacturing execution.
9.4 Modification of Guarantee
We reserve the right to modify this Quality Guarantee at any time. Changes will apply to orders placed after the modification date. We will not reduce guarantee coverage for orders already placed.
