Full Color 3D Printing

Vivid color. Precise detail. Every shade exactly as intended. Our full color 3D printing technology produces lifelike models with millions of colors printed directly into the part.

What Is Full Color 3D Printing?

Full-color 3D printing produces highly detailed, three-dimensional parts with rich, accurate color built directly into the model — not painted on after the fact. With the ability to reproduce millions of colors in a single print, it's the fastest way to go from digital design to a physical model that looks exactly the way you intended.

What is Full Color 3D Printing Good For?

Any application where appearance matters. Full color 3D printing is the go-to choice for consumer product prototypes, architectural and engineering models, medical and anatomical visualizations, figurines, marketing samples, and client presentations.

How Full Color 3D Printing Works

Full color 3D printing uses a multi-nozzle inkjet process, jetting tiny droplets of UV-curable resin in cyan, magenta, yellow, and black — along with white and clear support materials — across the build platform with pinpoint accuracy. As each layer is deposited, UV light instantly cures the resin, locking in both shape and color.

Layer by layer, this process builds a fully colored, solid part capable of reproducing over 10 million distinct colors — straight out of the printer, with minimal post-processing required.

Full Color 3D Printing FAQs

Everything you need to know about our full color printing service.

Full color 3D printing uses a CMYKW inkjet process capable of reproducing over 10 million distinct colors. For brand-critical work, you can submit exact Pantone or hex values and receive a part that matches your color specifications with high fidelity — no painting, no guesswork.

Color is deposited layer by layer across the entire exterior as the part builds, fully integrated into the surface — not a coating applied after the fact. The color depth is a thin shell rather than solid color throughout the core, which is standard for this process and sufficient for all visual and presentation applications.

Traditional painting adds labor, drying time, and consistency risk — especially across multiple copies. Full color printing produces identical, ready-to-use parts straight out of the printer. For complex geometry or parts with fine surface detail, painting also risks clogging features or adding unwanted thickness. Full color eliminates all of that.

It's primarily optimized for visual applications — prototypes, presentation models, marketing samples, anatomical visualizations, and client-facing deliverables. If you need a part that both looks right and handles significant mechanical stress, we'd recommend pairing a full color visual model with a functional prototype in a different process.

We accept OBJ, STL, 3MF, and VRML/WRL formats. For full color output, color data needs to be embedded in the file or supplied as a separate UV texture map in PNG or JPEG. OBJ with an MTL file and texture maps is the most reliable workflow. If your file is geometry-only without color data, reach out and we'll discuss your options.

Yes. Every file is reviewed for non-manifold geometry, thin walls, and other common issues before the job runs. If we spot something that will affect color accuracy or print quality, we'll flag it before we proceed. Catching it early saves time and avoids reprints.

Yes. Because color is driven by the texture file rather than the physical material, we can run the same geometry with different color schemes in the same build. This is a common workflow for packaging validation, product colorway reviews, and A/B presentation samples.

Yes. You can apply photo-realistic textures, color gradients, product labels, logos, and mapped imagery directly to a 3D surface. If you can describe it in a UV-mapped texture file, we can print it onto the part.

Absolutely. AI-generated models from platforms like Meshy.AI and similar tools are fully supported. Simply export your model in STL, OBJ, or 3MF format and send it our way. Our team will review the file and optimize it if needed to ensure the best possible print result.
